Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to your use of this website, including any orders you place. Please read these terms carefully before using this website. Using this website indicates that you fully accept these terms regardless of whether or not you choose to register with us. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use this website. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect your statutory rights.
Placing an Order
When you place an order through this website, we will send you an email to confirm that we have received your order. All orders placed are subject to these Terms and Conditions. We cannot accept your order until payment is received in full for all products and any delivery charges. However no payment is taken from your card until the goods are ready to be dispatched. We reserve the right to reject or cancel any order for any reason. All orders are subject to stock availability. If we are unable to supply any products that you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible. In the event that the product is part of an order, we will contact you to ask if you want the part order sent in advance.
Pricing
The prices displayed on our Chris’s Cycles website are largely the same as the Chris’s Cycles in-store prices, however we may offer different prices for products purchased from the website. These prices may be higher or lower than in our store. All prices are inclusive of VAT where appropriate. Our site contains a large number of products and it is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of the products listed on our site may be incorrectly priced. We will normally verify prices as part of our despatch procedures so that, where a product’s correct price is less than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount when despatching the product to you. If a product’s correct price is higher than the price stated on our site, we will at our discretion either contact you for instructions before dispatching the product, or reject your order and notify you of such rejection. All prices are subject to change without prior notice. We are under no obligation to provide the product to you at the incorrect (lower) price, even after we have sent you an order confirmation email.
Service & Repairs
When bikes or parts are brought in for service or repair, it is expected that you will pay and collect promptly when you are advised that the work is finished, unless specifically agreed otherwise.
Any bikes or parts not collected by one month after the work is completed will attract a storage charge of £2.00 per week, which will be added to the service or repair cost. Goods will not be released until receipt of all money owed is confirmed.
Any bikes or parts not collected by one year after the work is complete shall be considered abandoned and will be sold off to recover the cost of repairs and storage. You will forfeit your right to make any claim on the proceeds of the sale.
Test Rides
As of 9th November 2020, we will be starting to provide test rides again, but under strict conditions. Please phone us to arrange a suitable day and time. We only carry out test rides on dry days so if it should be raining or wet underfoot when you arrive, the bikes will not be brought out and any test rides will be cancelled. If you have any of the symptoms of Covid, please do not attend.
When you come to test ride an electric bike, please bring with you some valid photo ID (Driving Licence, Passport etc) and proof of address (e.g. recent utility bill). Test rides will not be allowed without this.
The test rides will only be allowed on a private driveway which is approx 50 metres long and is on an incline. Bikes are not allowed out on public roads for test rides.
Please dress appropriately for cycling.
Orders and Cancellation
You may cancel your web order at any time before it is dispatched to you. You should contact us immediately by phone on 07970 152170.
If a deposit has been paid on an order (10% required on special orders for non-stock items), this will not be refundable should you change your mind.
If you wish to reserve a bike that is for sale, a 10% (£10 minimum) non-refundable deposit must be paid to secure it. All bikes will remain on sale until deposits or payment are received for them and will be sold on a 'first come, first served' basis.
Returns and Refunds
In the unlikely event that a product is faulty, erroneously sent or damaged during delivery we will exchange the product or provide you with a full refund upon receipt of the returned product with proof of purchase and details of the fault or damage. Notification of any defect must be made within 7 days of the product being delivered to you. Refunds will usually be made within 7 days of the returned product being received by Chris’s Cycles to the account originally used to purchase the product. The refund will be for the cost of the item only (without delivery costs). Customers pay for initial delivery cost and return delivery cost to us, unless an error has been made by Chris’s Cycles. We will cover the cost of sending any replacement item back to you.
Should bicycles sold by us develop a fault due to manufacturer defects during the guarantee period, they will be repaired or replaced at our discretion under the terms of the guarantee. Please present your original proof of purchase when making claims under the terms of the guarantee.
Should you wish to return a bicycle due to a change of mind and not because of any faults or defects, this should be done within 14 days of purchase and the bicycle must be totally unused and returned in perfect condition as sold. A re-stocking fee of £50 will apply as the bike can no longer be sold as 'new' and would have to be discounted. This includes any accessories fitted at time of sale as they are considered as used once fitted to a bicycle. If the bicycle has suffered any damage since the sale date or in transit back to us, this will also affect the value refunded.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Price Match Policy
Electric bikes - should you see a bike of the same make and specification for sale elsewhere, we will try and match the price or get as close to it as possible, once we have verified that it is a genuine deal with available stock. We like to give our customers the best deal possible and you also get the backup that a local shop can give you, rather than trying to deal with an internet seller. You also get the bike fully built and checked when buying from a shop.
